Men’s jewelry for guys who “don’t wear jewelry”
With Father’s Day coming up, I wanted to talk a bit about my handmade men’s jewelry line, because when I used to do craft shows I saw first hand, the reaction from men who said they “weren’t into jewelry”, and then bought a piece of mine!
My husband is a jewelry convert. I swear, it wasn’t because of pressure from me!!! He was never into chain type of jewelry, and as an executive, he was not really my target group. His personal style has changed in recent years and it’s now likely I’m going to “lose a piece” when I show him my latest collection! (See teaser below!)
My men’s jewelry is weekend wear for “suits” but in Covid times, it’s everyday jewelry! One of the benefits of working from home has been a more casual and comfortable style, with surfer hair, waiting to be cut! You can really UP your Zoom game these days, by throwing on a beaded necklace before your next meeting.
“Jewelry gives me an ability to accessorize the solid, plain colours of my clothes, with a bit of my own personality without it being too “showy” overall. I also like the fact that your jewelry isn’t expensive, that three or four pieces are affordable and offers me variety in how I accessorize.”
Since I’m kinda obsessed with beach and boho style everything, my men’s jewelry also fits in this vibe… I picture my men’s beaded bracelets and necklaces on handsome artists, musicians, surfers, men who like to create, relax, explore, travel… Here’s a shot of my handsome friend Jason modelling his latest My Beading Art necklace!

For more classic types, I like to design pieces around neutral tones like brown, taupe, cream and black, and accent them with metal in various finishes, so they can be worn everyday, regardless of wardrobe. You can really get your enjoyment and value out of pieces that add some accessory detail without being distractive or overwhelming. I also love the look of a tasteful black and metal bracelet slips out just past a suit jacket sleeve. It can add just the right amount of personality to an otherwise subtle outfit.
I design pieces with brighter colours (and life!) mixed in, For the more adventurous or artistic guys. These often include gemstones and wood beads.
Regardless of the aesthetic appeal, my earthy, casual, rustic beaded jewelry for men either features large lobster or magnetic clasps that are easy to use and secure. Some necklaces are customizable, so you can enter your preferred length when you check out and I’ll finish it just for you. Bracelets are either stretchy or have magnetic clasps too.
