[UPDATE: event rescheduled!] My next handmade market… in Toronto!

If you need Mother’s Day gift ideas and you live in or near Toronto, read ON about this amazing shopping event the weekend before Mother’s Day!

Don’t you feel “extra” amazing when you shop at a small business, with items made by hand, owned by individual entrepreneurs? I do too! And I am trying to make better choices of where to spend my business money, too.

I love it when the markets and craft shows I want to participate in support another small business, an organization or a meaningful charity. In addition to the obvious benefits, emotionally I just feel better about where my money is going, especially if it turns out to not be a great event from a sales perspective.

That’s one of the tough, risky factors about participating in in-person events. As vendors we have to pay up front and book in advance in order to get a spot, but if a show is not well organized or advertised, or if weather or other features of the space become deterrents, a lack of attendees and shoppers can work against the success of the day. But if the cost to participate goes to a worthy cause, the day is not lost in my mind and heart.

This is to announce the next show I’m going to do is coming up in a few weeks. It’s run by an amazing small business I follow on Instagram @creativeconceptsbycheryl and it’s at a beautiful synagogue in Toronto, located at Bathurst and Wilson streets. You can find me at Temple Sinai, on Sunday May 7th from 11:30 - 3:30. There will be a gorgeous collection of handmade and other beautiful small businesses - come SHOP!
